Gebiet Sardona-Segnas-Gruppe

The mountain with the sounding name Piz Sardona in the border area of the cantons of St. Gallen, Glarus and Graubünden gave the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona its name. Verrucano rocks lie directly on the thin perforated limestone band and the flysch rocks. In the direction of Calfeisental and Flims there are glaciers that have lost significantly in length and volume in recent years. Beautiful moraines, glacial polishes and gravel meadows can be seen in the run-up.
