Gsponbachfall

From the valley floor of Alp Merlen there is a view of the Gsponbach Falls, which plunges into the valley from the right side. The 75-metre-high fall impresses not only with its sheer height, but also with its wild nature with which it plunges into the valley.

From Murg train station, the fall can be reached in a good 3 hours on foot. Alternatively, you can take the car or the Murgtal taxi to Merlen, or Mornen.

Tip: For nature lovers, it is almost a must to combine a visit to the Gsponbach Falls with the Murgsee circular tour. Just behind the Gsponbach Falls, a picture-perfect plateau opens up to the visitor, where the wild Gsponbach still meanders unhindered through the landscape. About two hours later, on the Murgsee-Furggel, you can see the upper two Murg lakes, before passing the lower Murgsee with its protected Swiss stone pine reserve on the way back. You can't get more nature and water experience than this!
