Description

For small and big explorers, the Chives Island awaits before Mols on Lake Walensee. The intense smell of chives gives away, even without stepping onto the island, where it got its name. It is small and occasionally even flooded during high water levels, but it is still worth a visit. To get there, you’ll need a boat or a kayak. There are no docking areas on the island, so swimming is the way to go. However, only if it's not breeding season, as many waterfowl live in the thicket of Chives Island and must not be disturbed. The special feature: The island has a mailbox with a kind of bottle post. What it’s about, you’ll have to discover for yourself.
