Wangs

Wangs enjoys a particularly advantageous location. In the north, the municipality touches the motorway junction A4/A13 Sargans, in the west the largest municipality in the canton in terms of area, namely Mels and in the east the world spa town of Bad Ragaz. In the south is the well-known skiing and hiking destination wangs-Pizol on its own municipal territory and in the east the wine-growing community Fläsch borders on Wangs. A unique landscape with meadow and farmland, pastures, forest and Alps offers a diverse fieldscape. The villages of Vilters and Wangs stand on rubble cones and owe their location to their village streams. The unique river landscape Rheinau with the nearby water, floodplains and forests represents an important local recreation area. Another highlight in Wangs is the pastor Künzle Weg. Here, visitors follow in the footsteps of Pastor Johannes Künzle. The rustic, uncomplicated pastor and herbalist lived in Wangs from 1909 - 1920 and received honorary citizenship in 1912. The path can be visited individually. In addition, regular guided tours are offered, where you can join. This easy themed hike at the foot of the Pizol offers something for everyone. Informative herb and biography panels, wooden sculptures, as well as two original Künzle grottoes are on the way from Wangs to Vilters and back.
