The first mention of a Marian church in Ilanz dates back to 765. From 1287 it is referred to as the Chapel of St. Mary and St. Margaret and after 1385 only as St. Margaret's Church.

At the end of the massive Rhine Gorge you will find the Wackenau viewing platform. It is named after the ruins above it. It can be reached via Trin Station or Bonaduz. The observation deck is accessible from May to October.
