As early as 1996, the first boulderers (boulder climbers) discovered the "Magic Wood" area in the municipality of Ferrera. In 2004, this trend was taken up by the municipality and the "Magic Wood" area was rezoned into a bouldering zone.

The Winter Sports Museum in Bad Ragaz is a recognized FIS ski museum. It showcases an extensive collection of skis and winter sports equipment gathered by Jürg Hess. The museum is located in the attic of an old house at Kronenplatz 6.
