Tilda's (Luna Wedler) days are strictly timed: studying, sitting at the supermarket checkout, swimming, taking care of her little sister Ida (Zoë Baier) – and on bad days also her mother (Laura Tonke). The three of them live in the saddest house on Fröhlichstrasse in a small town that Tilda hates. Her friends have long since left, live in Amsterdam or Berlin, only Tilda has remained. Because someone has to be there for Ida, earn money, bear the responsibility. There are no fathers worth mentioning, the mother is addicted to alcohol. One day, however, things start to move: Tilda is offered the prospect of a doctorate in Berlin, and a future that promises freedom flashes up. And Viktor (Jannis Niewöhner) appears, Ivan's big brother, whom Tilda lost five years earlier. Viktor, who – just like her – always swims 22 laps. But when Tilda almost thinks everything could be fine, the situation at home gets completely out of control.
