Alpchäsmarkt Flumserberg und Kuhrennen

At the traditional Alpchäsmarkt, the Alps of Flumserberg offer their cheese wheels for tasting and sale at the beautifully decorated stalls. In the traditional cheese dairy you can experience the rustic craft of cheesemaking on site. The traditional cheesemaker will show you how cheese was made in Heidi's time and will also be happy to answer any questions you may have.
A very special spectacle is the cow race, which is unique in Switzerland, in which exclusively female jockeys compete for the crown of the Cow Grand Prix on two laps. "Ready, set, MOO...!" – Convince yourself of the qualities of the racing cows before the starting gun and bet on your favourite in the betting shop. The little guests can compete in the mini cow race on bouncy cows and win small prizes.

10.00 am - 4.00 pm - Alpchäsmarkt Flumserberg
11.00 a.m. - Opening with the Schällnerclub Flumserberg and opening of the betting shop
11.30 a.m. - Traditional cheeses "Cheese making like in Heidi's time"
12.00 - 14.30 - Mini cow race with bouncy cows
12.00 p.m. - Performance by Swen Tangl
12.30 p.m. - Presentation of the racing team
1.30 p.m. - Performance by Swen Tangl
3.00 p.m. - Start cow race Attention, ready, MOO...! - followed by award ceremony and performance by Swen Tangl
3.30 p.m. - Bet payouts in the betting office and cozy finale in the cow racing bar

Further information:
The event takes place in all weathers. In case of bad weather, a heated marquee is available. Catering is available either at the food and drink stands or in the Sennästube restaurant.
