Spatiality, refined coolness and narrative coherence characterize the music of Amiira. They arise from a conception of improvisation that understands the present as an aesthetic basis for decision-making and places it at the center of common attention. Where are we at this moment? Where do we come from and which of the many future possibilities do we choose? The boundaries between composed and improvised music are blurred; stylistic divisions become permeable and lose importance.

With the program "Curious Objects", Amiira walks through spaces full of incompatibilities and surprising twists. They weave the curious and fascinating found objects that the musicians encounter into a multi-layered, sometimes exuberantly dazzling or introverted narrative that is removed from the usual grammar – and for this very reason invites you to follow it spellbound.
