Après-Ski

In the Physical Theatre "Après-Ski", the cie Ausartung plays a song of praise and farewell to the Swiss ski lift. The Swiss dream of winter tourism is illuminated in a poetic and pointed way and wishes, contradictions and disillusionments are worked out, from the first ascent of the Matterhorn to Olympic gold in Sapporo, to a moody, shooting Mother Hulda in the middle of a biblical apocalypse. The result is a bizarre but true-to-life cross-section of a century of Swiss skiing history – a collective winter dream that is slowly melting away: après ski.
