On the occasion of Astronomy Day 2026, Dr. Felix Seidel Caprez (Managing Director ETH Swiss GeoLab) talks about modern Earth observation: How do satellites, drones and AI provide new insights into climate, natural hazards and infrastructure – and what does this mean for our everyday lives?

The lecture will also address the topic of mass movements, also using data from Brienz and Blatten. One of the goals of the GeoLab is to provide additional information for decision-makers in the field of natural hazards and specifically mass movements.

Afterwards, we invite you to observe the sky through our telescopes. Registration is not required. Just come to the observatory on the Chesa Cotschna middle school building of the Academia Engiadina, Samedan
