Cinema: "One battle after another" in Ilanz

The washed-up revolutionary Bob (DiCaprio) ekes out his existence in a frenzy of drugs and constant paranoia. When his nemesis (Penn) suddenly reappears after 16 years and Willa disappears, the former activist desperately sets out to find her. After "Inherent Vice", Paul Thomas Anderson once again dares to make a film adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's novels, in this case "Vineland". The result is a bizarre action thriller that fluctuates in tonality between original comedy and political outrage and in which the gas pedal is always pressed.
