With "Herbstfeuer", Roman Vital has made a documentary about the fire at the Hotel Waldhaus in Vulpera. Not so much about the fire, but about everything that followed and how the protagonists dealt with this catastrophe or are still dealing with it.

It was an event or a huge tragedy, depending on your point of view: The fire at the Hotel Waldhaus in Vulpera on May 7, 1989. It seemed clear relatively quickly that it was arson, but it was less clear who did it. Speculation ran rampant and Rolf Zollinger, the hotel manager at the time, was publicly suspected together with Renato Testa. This was also due to the fact that the insurance company had quickly and easily transferred the loss amount to the operating company. However, both have always maintained their innocence and Zollinger himself has repeatedly suggested that he knows who may have set the fire. Enough material for a thriller or at least a documentary, said Roman Vital, a filmmaker from Arosa with Engadine roots.
