Cinema Tribuna: «Knöppel» in Ilanz

After roughly ten rough years of band history, Knöppel are an integral part of the lower end of the Swiss music scene. With "Sex Jazz Scheisse", the band's third record was released in 2023, whose art consists of pretending to be a (somewhat primitive) one-trick pony. And because the undertaking is so beautifully unserious, rough and varied, we like to pretend to believe them. The record may not be quite as good as the debut "Hey Wichsers" but at least as good as the second album "Faszination Glied". In other words, the band remains consistently bad.

Beaten up with a rolling pin on a weekend, the album sounds (again) like a debut album – for better or for worse, but above all for good. The trio has evolved, a little more ambitious in songwriting, even rougher in craft, lyrically as always absolutely unnecessary but funny and occasionally even quite clever. Together with old hits such as "Prada", "Dä hät mi ghaue dä Wichser", "Schüga" or "Glied", this is the ideal prerequisite for a boozy rock'n'roll evening full of mindfulness and harmony. True to tradition, the evening will be opened by Jack Stoiker.
