A descent is two minutes of skiing at the limit, a feat of strength between triumph and tragedy. The risk of falling and injury is constantly present, but the stimulus outweighs it and almost reaches the addictive factor. The world's best athletes deliberately seek out difficult situations that others avoid, in order to end up at the top as winners for themselves, for their nation and alone against everyone.
