E.1027 Eileen Gray und das Haus am Meer

In 1929, the Irish designer Eileen Gray built a refuge on the Côte d'Azur. Their first house, E.1027, is a discreet, avant-garde masterpiece. When Le Corbusier discovers the house, he is fascinated and obsessed. Later, without Eileen Gray knowing about it, he covers the walls with paintings and publishes photos of them. She demands that they be removed, but Le Corbusier ignores her wish and instead builds his famous Le Cabanon directly behind E.1027...

The hybrid documentary by Beatrice Minger and Christoph Schaub reconstructs the dramatic story of Eileen Gray and that of her house. In addition, he tells of the power of female expression and the desire of men to control it. The film will be followed by a guided discussion with director Christoph Schaub.
