European Restoration Day at Müstair Abbey

The valuable murals in the monastery church have been undergoing restoration since 2013, which is why one of the three apses was always covered by scaffolding.

Now the final spurt begins: the last scaffolding will be removed at the end of 2026 and the three-apse choir will be fully visible again.

On the European Restoration Day, we are offering a special opportunity: a short guided tour and individual inspection of the restoration scaffolding in the central apse of the monastery church

During this tour, you can look over the shoulders of the restorers as they work on the scaffolding. They will show you what is being done there and explain their work directly on site.
