In a tennis club somewhere in the German province, the annual summer festival is coming up. At the general meeting, tightly chaired by Heribert, the focus is on the preparations – actually a mere formality. Until Melanie suggests organizing a second barbecue: out of consideration for her tennis partner Erol, the only Muslim member of the club. The well-intentioned idea triggers unexpected unrest and leads to a turbulent exchange of blows, in which sentence after sentence atheists and believers, Germans and Turks, socialists and hardliners collide head-on. Soon it is clear to everyone that this is about much more than just the sausage.
