flimsfestival: Rheinbergers Orgeltrio

In 1887, the Vaduz composer and multi-instrumentalist Josef Gabriel Rheinberger created his Suite in C minor op. 149 is an extraordinary work that celebrates the rare but sonorous combination of violin, violoncello and organ. In four contrasting movements, a dialogue full of passion and depth unfolds. Rheinberger, a master of form and counterpoint, impressively proves here how the "queen of instruments" becomes an equal partner in chamber music interplay. The highly romantic composition captivates with its vocal melodies and technical brilliance, in which a virtuoso organ cadenza is not to be missed. With Andreas Jetter, the cathedral music director of Chur Cathedral, we have a master of his craft who can combine musicality and virtuosity on the organs of the world like no other, as he does today in Flims, where he plays together with the Engadine violinist Flurina Sarott and the artistic director Mathias Kleiböhmer.
