Event Surselva
Gem on the Alpine Transversal - Guided Tour of the Reformed Church of Pitasch

Description
The church of Pitasch is located on the early medieval Alpine transversal, which led via Pitasch, the Güner Lückli and Splügen to Chiavenna. Built as a Romanesque rectangular hall with a semicircular apse, it shows interesting masonry and wall paintings from the workshop of the Waltensburg master, among others.
Andreas Caviezel was president of the parish and accompanied the restoration of the church from 1976 to 1985, during which the building was restored to its Romanesque state. He therefore knows the church like few others.
