Der Held vom Bahnhof Friedrichstrasse
Description
A video store owner on the verge of bankruptcy involuntarily becomes a hero.
CINEMA | DRAMA
Micha Hartung, owner of a video store in Berlin, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Then an ambitious journalist contacts him who senses a really big story. He claims to have found out that Micha organized a mass exodus from the GDR 35 years ago. And it did so by means of a converted switch that led an S-Bahn train to the west. Since Micha needs every cent and the journalist promises him a well-paid story, he doesn't object. Soon all the media and talk shows are clamoring for him, he is on everyone's lips, is celebrated as a hero. Then he meets Paula – but the budding love story between the two threatens to sink into a chaos of lies and fake news, like the rest of Micha's life...
