When a radio message goes into space, sometimes someone answers – and sometimes life itself.

The very best friends Toni and Yumyum spend the night in a tent in the garden. With a self-made "cosmic radio", they try to radio Toni's recently deceased mother. Instead, they inadvertently make contact with astronaut Zanna on the International Space Station (ISS), who can be reached for about ten minutes every 90 minutes during each orbit of the Earth. For this night, she becomes the two girls' confidant in matters of heaven – until the sadly beautiful farewell to space, at the end of which Toni has a "mommy star".

The play is based on the book Himmelwärts by Karen Köhler, which won the German Youth Book Prize in 2025. The new production of Circle of Crows will be created in spring 2026 at the Postremise under the direction of Julian M. Grünthal and Charlotte Engelberg. Rahel Nahely and Elisabeth Rolli can also be seen on stage.
