Event Val Surses Savognin Bivio
Jahreskonzert "MIS meets British Royals" der Musica Instrumentala Savognin
Description
The spring of 2026 of Musica Instrumentala Savognin (MIS) will be dominated by the Federal Music Festival (EMF) in Biel and the annual concert on Whit Sunday, 24 May, at 8:30 p.m. in the Sala Grava.
For the first time in its 140-year history, the MIS is taking part in the EMF, which will take place in Biel from 14 to 17 May – a special challenge for the musicians. Oliver Waespi's "Friendly Takeover" is performed as a self-chosen piece, an interplay of lyrical melodies and pulsating rhythms with an energetic finale. The task piece "Cirque au Lac" by Manuel Renggli takes you into a colourful circus world.
The annual concert will follow a week later. In addition to the EMF pieces, the MIS is dedicated to the theme of "British Royals". The prelude is "God Save the King", followed by music from "James Bond" – including memories of the legendary Olympic opening ceremony in 2012 with Queen Elizabeth II and Daniel Craig. Also to be heard: "The Lion King" by Elton John and the famous march "Colonel Bogey". Of course, the popular house sausages and the legendary tombola are not missing on this evening - this year with a small surprise. Save the date! We'd be amused to welcome you on 24th May in Savognin.
