The jam session allows professionals and amateurs alike to present themselves, try out new things and cultivate the fun and joy of playing together without much concert pressure. At the same time, they promote networking and dialogue on an artistic and interpersonal level. JazzChur also cultivates the long-standing jazz tradition - tangible and comprehensible for musicians and audiences alike.

The house band opens the evening with a small concert. During the subsequent jam session, the members of the house band accompany the participating musicians or make room at their instruments.

The repertoire consists of jazz standards from the Real Book of the 5th and 6th editions. The pieces can be freely chosen by the performing musicians. Prerequisites for participation are:

– Mastering the melody
– Safety in the course of the sound
– The ability to improvise over the chord progressions
