Kultur & Tourismus: Vortrag von Stefan Forster

Stefan Forster is head of the research department Tourism and Sustainable Development at the ZHAW at the Center da Capricorns in Wergenstein. In teaching, research and consulting, he is mainly concerned with sustainability, tourism and regional development in rural areas. Among other things, he is also president of the Graubünden Cultura association, which promotes cultural tourism in Graubünden.

In 1995, Splügen received the Wakker Prize, the "Oscar for planning culture", with the following reasoning: "The Swiss Heritage Society recognises the care with which the municipality of Splügen develops gentle and sustainable tourism and at the same time preserves and cares for its townscape worthy of protection. In this way, Splügen is an example worth imitating for the mountain communities of Switzerland."

How has tourism in the mountain region and the role of culture in tourism developed since then? What perspectives does cultural tourism offer globally and regionally? What are the challenges in the Rhine Forest? Stefan Forster will give a lecture on these and other current issues.
