Chris Masterman is a TV weather presenter whose good days are some time ago. One day he receives the order to travel to the city of Broome – in the middle of the Australian outback. Due to a carelessness, he hits a kangaroo cub and, in search of help, meets the 11-year-old indigenous girl Lilly, who immediately takes care of the injured animal. The two become friends, and an exciting adventure begins for both of them in their attempt to rescue more kangaroo cubs.
