The work and personality of the outstanding humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam (ca. 1466–1536) are the focus of the third event in the "Literature at Noon" series. "The Lament of Peace" was printed in Basel in 1517. The text is one of the best-known writings of the polymath, who was an important pacifist and church reformer in his time.
