Event Arosa Lenzerheide
long-standing neglect

Description
Long overdue wilderness is a Spoken Poetry performance featuring poems and thoughts from Simone Lappert's eponymous poetry collection. In it, thoughts become mossy and the moon shines brightly like silicon. Love tastes of quince, catastrophe of strawberries, and the poet asks: "Tell me, how does one get through winter without a future?" These are texts about new beginnings, farewells, longings, self-determination, and the fragile present. The skilled E-bassist Martina Berther (Ester Poly, AUL, Sophie Hunger) musically interprets the imagery of the poems, contrasting, accompanying, and sharpening the experience. Long overdue wilderness is sometimes loud and wild, sometimes contemplatively quiet, and always with a wink. The reading takes place in the lobby of the Hotel Schweizerhof as part of the cultural week FrequenzNatur 2025. The cultural week FrequenzNatur 2025 is dedicated to listening and tuning into what sounds, vibrates, hums, and resonates in nature. With our ears, bodies, and imagination, we explore the soundscape of nature on walks around Lenzerheide – from beetles and worms in the ground to bird calls high in the air. The cultural week is created in collaboration with curator Bettina Rohr as part of the project Dear2050, which aims for a better understanding of nature and climate change. The events are publicly accessible.
