Overland Duo

In 2001, the exceptional Swiss guitarist Max Lässer picked up where he began to deal with Swiss folk music at the end of the 70s with the album "Überland". In 2007, the CD "Überland Duo+" was created from the encounter with the Schwyz Örgeli player Markus Flückiger at the EXPO.02, where the Überlandorchester was formed for the first time.

Over the course of the last 24 years, Max Lässer and Markus Flückiger have composed music that combines tradition with the independent playing style of the musicians and the manifold harmonic and rhythmic influences of the last sixty years of popular music. Traditional Swiss dances from various regions of Switzerland, which were collected by Hanny Christen and go back up to 100 years, will also be re-arranged.

"Überland" – the idea of the search for a music that is connected to our place of life – the endeavour to create music that makes our musical identity audible. A contemporary folk music. After countless concerts in the last 20 years as well as several CDs of the Überlandorchester in various formations, Lässer & Flückiger, the core of the Überlandorchester, will perform as a DUO for the first time. Finds from 20 years as well as new sounds will be heard.
