Mola
Description
Kunsang Wangmo, known as ‘Mola’ (grandmother), has been away from home for almost 60 years. Mola, a Buddhist nun who has been exiled from her homeland of Tibet since 1959, has one last wish: to return to Tibet and die near her paradise homeland. Her 100th birthday is approaching, and time is running out. In Bern, Mola prays and meditates daily while remaining an important part of her close-knit family. To fulfil her wishes, Mola's family begins the arduous process of applying for a visa at the Chinese embassy, which could take months. As life in their household continues as usual, the family begins to document what may be their last days with Mola.
