Rental Family

RENTAL FAMILY tells the story of a US actor (Oscar® winner Brendan Fraser) living in Tokyo who is searching for meaning in his life until he lands an unusual job. Working for a Japanese ‘rental family’ agency, he slips into different roles and plays the son, husband or father as a member of the family. As he becomes more and more immersed in his clients' lives and helps them fill the gaps in their families, he begins to form real bonds that blur the lines between acting and reality. In grappling with the moral aspects of his new job, he rediscovers the meaning of life, the feeling of belonging and the beauty of human relationships.
