When Rolf Schmid takes the stage, there won't be a dry eye in the eye – and 2026 will be the last year in which the comedy veteran will travel through Switzerland on a major tour with his new programme "I mag eifach nüma!". After more than three decades full of punchlines, programmes and as an audience favourite, the Graubünden entertainer and comedian says: "It's done and done – at least on the stage." He is well understood: he has 66 years under his belt, 33 years he was on stage. Rolf Schmid became known throughout Switzerland in the 1990s as the face and advertising ambassador of Rhäzünser mineral water. This was followed by numerous tours as well as appearances in popular TV shows such as Benissimo, Rondo Mondo, Arosa Humor Festival or Giacobbo/Müller.

"I just don't like it!" is a cult
With a total of 12 solo programmes, he made the audience laugh again and again – and not only received countless "standing ovations", which he liked to counter with a "Sit down, I'm not there", but also awards such as the renowned Prix Walo and various comedy awards. With his legendary number "I mag eifach nid!" he finally achieved cult status. "It fills me with pride that this line is still passed on through all generations today and also stands for joie de vivre," says a happy Rolf Schmid.

Rolf in private – almost as funny as on stage
Away from the limelight, Schmid has remained a family man. Between performances, tours and rehearsals, he has always managed to be there for his loved ones – and has never neglected the cooking of his legendary "Schmid'sche Älplermagronen". Whether as a father, friend or host: his down-to-earthness is as unmistakable as his humor. "So far, I've been able to do what I enjoy. I am very grateful for that," says Rolf Schmid.

A funny book as a bestseller
In 2023, Rolf Schmid published the book "I mag einfach nid". This is a book that comedian Rolf Schmid and his lyricist Hardy Hemmi never originally wanted. They wanted nothing more than to write down a few anecdotes from the almost completely normal life of the trained baker-confectioner and later comedian Rolf Schmid and to stage these biographical episodes sometime, somehow and somewhere. Overnight, the whole project took on a life of its own and got going, like a raging Graubünden mountain stream after a thunderstorm. And then it started: And the almost completely normal life of Rolf Schmid often proves to be miles away from any norm when viewed in the rear-view mirror. And much of what seems hilarious, even funny from today's distance, was often anything but that at the time. The funny book becomes a bestseller.

The last tour – a farewell with tears of laughter
With his farewell tour in 2026, Rolf Schmid fulfills the last big dream for himself and his audience: to travel through the country one more time, to give it his all once again, to make people laugh one more time. "After that, I'm happy to have more time with my family, in nature and for cooking," says Rolf Schmid. "I just like nüma" is his conclusion. An entertaining mix of review, preview and chaos.
