Sean Shibe

In his concerts, the young Scottish guitarist Sean Shibe explores the limits of his instrument and shows the versatility of the guitar – and the electric guitar. Not only the classical repertoire such as the suites of Johann Sebastian Bach suit the jack-of-all-trades, but it is also the newer and newest music that is close to his heart. For example, with the works of Adès and Scott, which were written especially for him, but also with one of Steve Reich's masterpieces of minimal music: this piece for electric guitar turns one player into a rhythmic confusion of a multitude of voices. His recitals have already thrilled audiences in halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, or the Philharmonie de Paris and earned him several Grammy nominations.
