Winter magic, festive sounds, and musical highlights – between Christmas and New Year, the SINFONIA transforms the Engadin into a first-class concert hall. For 40 years, the orchestra, comprised of musicians from leading European ensembles, has been bringing music that touches the heart during this special time of year. When snow covers the Engadin mountains in sparkling white and the clear winter air takes your breath away, unforgettable concerts full of emotion and passion invite you to celebrate the end of the year with a musical highlight.
To mark its anniversary, the orchestra, under the direction of Christoph-Mathias Mueller and featuring the internationally acclaimed cellist Maximilian Hornung, presents a program brimming with romance and expressiveness:
· Antonín Dvořák: Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B minor, op. 104 (B. 191)
· Edvard Grieg: Symphony in C minor, EG 119 A feast for the ears and the heart – amidst the wintry splendor of the Engadin.
