Prof. Dr. Andreas Burkert heads the Chair of Computational Astrophysics at the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) Munich. The minor planet "267003 Burkert" was named after him. The starting point of his research is the question of how today's highly complex universe could emerge from the simple beginnings in the Big Bang up to life. For him, the universe is more than its building blocks. He therefore advocates a dialogue between science and religion.
