The teacher who promised us the sea

The film "The Teacher Who Promised Us the Sea" (original title: El maestro que prometió el mar) tells the true story of Antoni Benaiges. In 1935, he took up the position of village teacher in a Spanish village and inspired his students with anti-authoritarian methods and respectful interaction. In the tense atmosphere shortly before the Spanish Civil War, however, this approach met with suspicion from parents and local authorities. 75 years later, the granddaughter of one of his students reconstructs his moving story.
