As an orphan, she has found a home here. For them, there is nothing better than herding the goats with Peter the goat, playing in the wide meadows and sleeping in the hay. But then Aunt Dete takes her to Frankfurt, where she is supposed to live with a wealthy family in the big city. Their daughter Klara is in a wheelchair and is happy about her company. The two become friends. But Heidi is plagued by great homesickness and she wants nothing more than to return to the mountains. This wish is fulfilled and she returns to the Alpöhi. When Klara visits her in the mountains, she gets to know and love Heidi's world, which triggers many a miracle. Markus Steinwender has written a cheeky and touching adaptation of the well-known Heidi story by Johanna Spyri. Director Sophia Bodamer from Zurich is staging the play with music by Anna Trauffer. Sophia Bodamer: "I simply associate "Heidi" with a very beautiful story about home, friendship and family. Three actors play all the characters. In our version, they also speak Swiss German, because the characters are even closer to us for us. I think the connection to our homeland is also very strongly linked to the dialect for us Swiss."
