Transruinaulta Trailmarathon

The Transruinaulta measures 42 kilometers and leads from Ilanz to Thusis. From Ilanz, the first town on the Rhine, trail runners start almost directly onto a beautiful single trail along the young Vorderrhein. The exclusive starting point is designed to further enhance the experience of nature through individual starts. After the first 11 kilometers or so in the middle of the Rhine Gorge, there are steep climbs up to Versam, through the Versamertobel to Scardanal and on to Rhäzüns. The marathon then turns off towards Heinzenberg, following the Hinterrhein up to Präz. The view towards Thusis and over the whole of Domleschg makes up for the tough climb. From the top of the marathon, the route slowly descends on single trails along the Heinzenberg before a few short climbs shortly before the finish.
