As a child, I watched my parents on television, was ashamed of them and yet admired them. As national councillors, they fought for agriculture that was close to nature and later realized their ideals on a farm in the south of France.
Because the remote farm is not suitable as a retirement home, they now want to pass it on to my brother and me. Should we continue what they have started or disappoint them?
It's not the first time we've had to position ourselves in relation to our parents. While my brother continues their political battles as a farmer and member of the National Council, I discovered in filmmaking the opportunity to distance myself from them while remaining close to them.
