On a small Japanese island, life revolves around the change of seasons. In winter, ice hockey is the order of the day at school, but Takuya is not particularly enthusiastic about it. His real interest is Sakura, an up-and-coming figure skating star from Tokyo, for whom he begins to develop a real fascination. The trainer and former champion Arakawa recognizes Takuya's potential and decides to support him as a mentor to form a duo with Sakura for an upcoming competition. As the winter continues, the feelings grow, and the two children form a harmonious bond.
