Volker Gerling's serial photographic snapshots are poetic blinks of exactly twelve seconds. For his flipbooks, he has documented gems of wondrously inconspicuous encounters with his camera. On stage, he peels through the series of images under a video camera, projects them onto the screen and talks lightly and affectionately about the people he has met.

In combination with the multi-layered music of Astrid Alexandre (piano & vocals), short and deeply human stories emerge – a touching, musical, visually powerful portrait of our present.
