Through an enchanting winter forest to the goat alp Puzzetta (marked)
Details
Description
From Fuorns we hike up the snow-covered alpine road in wide switchbacks. The incline is gentle and if a track is already there, there is enough space to chat. It is more strenuous with fresh snow, but the deeply snow-covered forest, interspersed with particularly mighty and gnarled firs, makes up for it in many ways. Clearings open up here and there and the view is clear, both up and down the valley. Alpine huts along the path crouch under the heavy load of snow and tracks in the snow tell us that deer, chamois, or hares live here. Shortly before Alp Puzzetta, we leave the forest behind, the roof of the hut becomes visible and shortly after we marvel at the bold architecture that we have before us! The contrast, red building, blue sky, and white snow is impressive. We look for a picnic spot in the sun and take our time before hiking back down the same route. It’s okay to take shortcuts and kick up plenty of snow along the way.
