Description
On the way to the Kesch Hut, you hike over the Scaletta Pass and pass the Panorama Trail, which lies on the route of the annual "Swiss Alpine Marathon." Today you stay overnight in the Kesch Hut, newly built in 2001, which is considered a model hut in the Alpine region regarding energy supply and concept. It has been awarded the European Union Ecolabel and is a winner of the Swiss Solar Prize.
Hidden Gem
On the way to the Kesch Hut, a detour to the Ravais-ch Lakes is worthwhile. You will be rewarded with a magnificent panorama.

Safety Note
The Kesch Trek is an alpine mountain hike. The possible dangers in the high mountains must be properly assessed. The hiking stages require good fitness.
Each October and from the end of April to the end of May, the Swiss Army conducts shooting exercises in the S-chanf area. Therefore, the area between S-chanf and the Dürrboden mountain inn is closed during this time in the Scaletta and Grialetsch area (life-threatening danger).
Equipment
Sturdy mountain boots, weatherproof and warm clothing, rain protection, provisions for the hiking stages (lunch packages can also be obtained in the huts), sufficient water, sun and head protection, first aid kit, maps for orientation, and possible hiking poles.
