Alpine trail in Mels

In terms of area, Mels is the largest municipality in the canton of St.Gallen. The area extends mainly in the Weistannen valley and the plateaus above it. These pre-alpine mountain pastures have been used for food production by people from various regions since time immemorial. What remains are 24 alpine pastures of varying history, ownership, size and cultivation.
On a short circular trail along the Seez, you will find interesting facts about each alp on picture and text panels. In addition to the interesting information, this trail, which leads through forest, alpine meadows and torrents, is wonderfully embedded in a wild and romantic landscape.
