It is neither Klaus nor Claus that gives the lake its name. Claus means fenced meadow. Where until a few years ago there was a meadow, there is now a bathing lake. T2

Description
At the train station in Mompé Tujetsch, we start easily downhill and let our good mood not be spoiled by the first few hundred meters on asphalt. We cross the gently babbling Rhine and hike through Mises las Cavorgias past pretty Maiensässen and a small lake. A little later, we make a small detour into the forest where two more ponds are hidden and where you can practice archery: www.muntognas.ch (reservation required)
Through a shady forest, we continue our hike to Cavorgia, where the chapel Sogn Leci presents itself as a great photo motif. The Lag da Claus is practically a "gift" or a "reward" for patiently enduring the turbulent construction period of the NEAT base tunnel for years. From a gravel depot, a wonderful landscape with a bathing lake has emerged, delighting guests and locals alike.
Now into the cool water! A swim round, a nap on the wooden loungers, and then onto the terrace, where a tasty snack is served to us.
It is a 20-minute walk to Sedrun station from here.
Hidden Gem
In summer, a local bus runs four times a day if you don't want to hike the last stretch to Sedrun.
Safety Note
Fairtrail: Hikers share the path with mountain bikers.
Equipment
