Rundwanderung Ilanz

A well-developed, mostly flat natural road leads you to Rueun station. There is the oldest wooden bridge in the canton of Graubünden – it is also one of the oldest in Europe. In Rueun, the path leads along the road to the village of Rueun, here turn into Via Principala (turn right towards Schnaus). At the church in the village of Rueun, the circular path leads to the left (between the houses). Note that the signpost is somewhat hidden. After Rueun you have the opportunity to walk a partial path on the historic «Via Suworow» or to make the small detour through the village of Schnaus. Shortly before Schnaus and the historic site of the Giger brothers, there is a forest nature trail. It is worthwhile to allow a little more time for this and to visit the Gigerseeli or to visit the old water wheel.

Abbreviations:

- In front of the Factory Yard Rueun a signpost leads to Schnaus. So you can reduce the round a bit

- In Rueun (directly at the wooden bridge) is the station Rueun and offers the possibility to take the RhB back to Ilanz.

On the way between Ilanz and Rueun there is an idyllic picnic/barbecue area with several fire pits and access to the Rhine. Perfect for a meal break.

After Rueun, part of the circular route can be hiked on the historic «Via Suworow» and in

Schnaus is worth a detour through the forest nature trail with the Gigerseeli at the historic site of the Giger brothers.
