Collecting passes from Davos to Tirano
Show all 9 images
Davos is located in a high valley, yet the mountain landscape is by no means as rough and rugged as, for example, that of Central Switzerland or Valais. You can notice this when riding a motorcycle – nowhere else do the Swiss mountain passes run as smooth and harmonious as here.

Description
From Davos, head south past lush green meadows and the small Walser settlements along the Landwasser River to Tiefencastel. Then turn towards the Julier Pass and continue over the Maloja Pass to Chiavenna. Remaining in Italy, the route leads through half of the Valtellina valley to Tirano.
Tirano offers a range of oenogastronomic experiences, including visits to the region’s wineries with tastings and walks through the vineyards and apple orchards.
Then the border is crossed back into Switzerland and the route winds through the Val Poschiavo up to the Bernina Pass, located in a glacier paradise. The final highlight is the drive through the dreamy Engadin and the wild romantic Flüela valley.
For those with more endurance, the route can be extended shortly before the Bernina Pass via the Forcola di Livigno, allowing you to benefit from affordable shopping and cheap fuel for the motorcycle tours.
Hidden Gem
To collect even more passes, you can alternatively drive via Livigno to Zernez.
