Description
On the former access road closed to motorized traffic, the easy route masters the ascent into the Tamina Valley to Valens. The rehabilitation center there is one of the leading rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland and specializes in the treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. With a view of the impressive Tamina Bridge - an arch bridge with a 270 m span - and into the depths of the Tamina Gorge, the route makes a loop via Vasön and the Mapragg reservoir. The water from this compensation basin, which has already been used for power production, can be pumped back up to the higher reservoir of Gigerwald during periods of low electricity consumption and used for power generation again when needed. In Pfäfers, the baroque monastery church accompanies you, and by Wartenstein Castle, wonderful views of the Grisons Rhine Valley accompany the rapid descent down to Bad Ragaz and back to the Tamina Thermal Baths.
