Description
The starting point for this 4 km trail is the info point at Unterterzen station on the lake side at Unterterzen railroad station (425 m above sea level). From there, the paved beach path leads along the lake in the direction of Murg - the turquoise-blue Walensee and the imposing Churfirsten peaks always on your right. Halfway between Unterterzen and Murg, the Eigis Trail turns right, passing under the railroad and road underpass. The trail then follows the main road for a few meters before joining a well-maintained and wide hiking trail shortly afterwards. The trail now leads through the partly steep deciduous forest and up a natural staircase to Eigis (496), from where you can enjoy a magnificent panorama! The trail continues almost flat over meadows and fields to below Quarten. Below the church, the trail turns left onto the hiking trail for the descent to Unterterzen. The last few meters to the starting point lead through the underpass at the town hall in Unterterzen.
