Description

Imposing panoramic view (even at the altitude of the Leis mountain farm) of the mountains towards the east to south west: Tomülhorn, Pizzas d'Anarosa, Hora, Guraletschhorn, Fanellhorn and Güferhorn, among others. The distinctive mountain faces of the Piz Serenastga and Piz Aul rise towards the heavens behind the Leis mountain farm.

Geheimtipp

The view from the Leisalp to the mountains opposite and far into the neighboring valleys, partly to Pizzas d'Anarosa is overwhelming.

Sicherheitshinweis

A technically easy tour (T3) for good mountaineers, however when wet, cold, or in case of snow, caution is advised. The trail is quite steep in particular in the Fuorcla da Patnaul area (on the Vals and Vrin side) and therefore not recommended in wet conditions.

Mother cows defend their calves. Keep a large distance and be aware of how the mother cow is behaving.

Ausrüstung

Solid, rainproof, warm clothing. Solid mountain or trekking boots. Gloves, hat, sun protection. Walking poles, food and drink in a rucksack, first aid kit, topographical map, altimeter, compass, mobile phone, torch.

Directions

From Gadastatt (1,800 m, gondola top station, mountain restaurant), follow the sign and it will take you up a gradually sloping mountain trail to Stafelti in 30 minutes. From there, the small street leads to the Leis mountain farm (2,051) after another 30 minutes. From the farm, continue along the same street until just after the first bend; this is where the trail to the 2,773 m high Fuorcla da Patnaul starts, which climbs gradually for 2 hours. The descent to Vrin via the Patnaul-Pardatsch farm is quite steep and only suitable for experienced mountaineers.

You can either return on the same pass trail or by the postal bus service from Vrin to Ilanz, then change and take the postal bus service back to Vals.

Descent to Vrin 3 hours 30 minutes
